Melbourne to Sydney
Well the trip has started... with a bang! First stop Melbourne for Alex & Craig’s wedding in Milawa – for those who don’t know where that is, if we said opposite Brown Brother’s would that refresh your memory hehe. Against popular opinion, Cam, Oralee & I decided to get there with our fav airline, Tiger grrr haha and fly our fav flight, the midnight horror arriving at Tullamarine at approx 6am (thanks to a very good tailwind). Thankfully our fav friend Johnny had organised a room at what would quickly turn out to be our fav hotel – the Hilton, located just minutes away from Melbourne’s Domestic Airport.
Top that with a beautiful buffet breakfast, a lil road trip with some of the bestest friends ever aand lots of smuggled cheese ;) a quick stop at BBros and you have got yourself a fab way to start the holiday of a lifetime!
Testing out our favourite bed ;)

A combination of Melbournites and WAlians made up the beautiful wedding the next day. Alex wowed all the guests – looking gorgeous as ever. Us socialising connoisseurs filled the rest of the weekend with Milawa mustard tasting, pool parties, late night dancing and of course, the must do - wine & cheese tasting.

Alex the beautiful bride!
Girls doing what they do best. Looking fabulous!
Haha. The reception gets started!
Insert 8hr road trip from Melbourne to Sydney with Chelsea and Johno. Stops included Dog on the Tuckerbox, super exciting haha (referenced by Slim Dusty – you fellows Aussies will know what I’m talking about) and Maccas – which I must add teased us with their catchy advertising all the way up the Hume Hay – evil teehee.***
By 10pm we had finally made it to wet and rainy Syd-a-neeeeeee. My gorgeous cousin Johnei & her amazing hubby Rob took me in the night – providing me with my 1st real sleep in a proper bed in about 6 weeks! A bed all to myself I might add!! Boy, do I love them! I can hardly believe it’s the 1st catch up in 2 years – we celebrated with plenty of coke and mini snicker bars.
Before I realised it my day in Sydney was nearly over. Super slow McDonald's WiFi, the skinny chai lattes & caramel slice at Starbucks, the walk through Hyde Park, sitting at the Reflection Pool were all a distance memory. But trudging through the pelting rain as I trekked across the city to Darling Harbour, well, that would never been forgotten. Why oh why didn’t I pack an umbrella????????
Stealing little moments under one particular Asians umbrella as I asked for directions...water tripping from my backpack....squeezing the water out of my drenched t-shirt...beautiful straightened hair returning to its wild, curly state ahhh these are the experiences I (didn’t) imagine when I decided to travel the world!!
After wandering around Darling Harbour’s Cockie Bay for what seemed like eternity I finally found the very fancy restaurant Dave had selected for our catch up this evening. Managing a small smile (and maybe a wink or two) I slipped past the cute guy at the door and into the dimly lit Thai restaurant. Laughs, stories and jokes were shared across the table, as Rob, Johnei, Dave, Felicia, Greg, Chelsea, Johno and I caught up on each other’s most exciting happenings.***
Flight to Gold Coast departing 15:30 from Sydney Domestic Airport, and I was on it! Thanks Johnei, for taking a sickie and dropping me off at the airport ;) – saving me from a several crowded train trips. You are the best! Thanks lady at the counter for taking pity on me with ALL my luggage and offering me the exit seat – small kindnesses made my day J
