Flying Off, far far away!!!!!

However, Sydney awaits!!!! J And what a surprise it was to see Rob waiting for me at the arrivals gate. Dressed sharply in a suit, he looked every bit the successful business man and then there was me... dressed for optimum, backpacking, flying comfort... we must have looked like quite the duo jumping into the taxi together haha.
After a looong night – feeling excited yet scared as heck, anxious and eager to go at the same time, unprepared but feeling free, looking forward to the future although sad to be leaving... what a night! Eekkk!
...It’s 8am and time for Johnei & I to trek – well actually, I trekked. Johneen walked sophisticatedly and confidently towards the train station and towards her awesome job interview. Wiping the sweat from my brow, I boarded the train, took out a few passengers with my insanely heavy, crazily big back pack before half settling, semi tangling from one of those awful train benches. Not my favourite experiences so far. But 2 trains and a long walk later, my shoulders and I finally made it to the V Australia check in gate. Relief...
I WISH I HAD A PHOTO FOR YOU GUYS haha!!!!
Seat 52A – are you serious!?????????? Surely not! The very last seat at the very back of this massive plane... maybe I shouldn’t have made that cranky lady at checkin change my seat to a window seat... :S
The screens in front of us don’t work and need to be reset but on the plus side the nice man next to me knows A LOT about America and spent the 1st few hours advising me on some of the must not be missed national parks in the states – which as it turned out, ended up being most of them (if not, all) hehe.
Soon dinner is served... well, actually let me rephrase that. Let me remind you, I’m sitting at the back of the plane. So lucky us get to smell the yummy hot meals as they get delivered to everyone, accept us! Accept us!???? I know right!?????? Steam came from my ears *imagine that* and drool from my mouth as the air hostess crouched down besides us to explain that they’d actually run out of ‘normal’ meals and we would havta wait while they tried to sort it out. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What on earth! L
And then it arrives.......

...Marinated duck garnished with a vegetable so fancy that I don’t even recognise it!!! I inhale it in seconds... almost forgetting to get a quick photo.

...And then, a hot, ceramic plate of scotch fillet with mushroom sauce on a side of mashed potato and beans.
That’s right folks, this is how we roll! :)) Let the trip begin!
